About Us


Prof. Dr. Mathias Kraus

Mathias Kraus (born 1989) studied mathematics in the Bachelor’s program and computer science in the Master’s program at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) from 2010 to 2016. After completing his Master’s degree, he worked as a research assistant at the University of Freiburg in 2017 and as a PhD student at ETH Zurich from 2018 to 2020, where he successfully completed his PhD on “Deep Learning in Business Analytics: Methods and Applications” in October 2020. In the meantime, he spent a research stay at the University of Texas at Austin. Since February 2021, Mathias Kraus holds the junior professorship for Data Analytics at the Institute of Information Systems at FAU.



Daria Kozlova

Daria Kozlova currently studies International Information Systems at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg with a focus on data analysis, databases, and applied statistics. Before coming to Germany, she finished her studies in economics with honors from the St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. While she pursued her studies, she already worked at Ernst & Young. Besides her studies, she likes to spend time to go running and doing yoga.




Kumud Kumar

Kumud Kumar started studying International Information Systems at FAU in 2020. Prior to her master studies, she received a bachelor’s degree in Business and Information Systems from the Vienna University. In her studies, she puts a focus on the topics supply chain management and data science. In particular, the question of how to achieve transparency in machine learning models has raised her interest.
